The Creators of the original art stamp pad.
Tsukineko has been producing high quality and unique ink products since the 1950’s. The company continues to expand its collection, but the mission has always remained the same. Tsukineko will always offer excellent customer service, innovation and extreme quality of product. The company will continue to be on the cutting edge of the industry.
When I meet someone new to stamping, I always recommend the VersaFine pads. They allow for fine detail, showing a stamp off to its best and they come in a wonderful array of sophisticated colors. I buy every color of this I find. This color is a gray-green, useful for foliage.
A storeowner in Pittsburgh told me this was her favorite pad. It's oil based, almost like shortening, she told me. It must be used on mat (regular) cardstock, never on glossy or vellum. Doesn't work on slick surfaces. The black gives a really dark black and lots of fine detail, especially for a pigment ink. You don't need the reinker as the ink lasts 5x longer than other pads. It has the wonderful Tsukineko flip back lid that goes under the pad while you're using it so you don't get your fingers dirty and don't lose the lid. It resists water so is perfect for your outline stamps when you want to color in with watercolors or Tombow pens.
All the VersaFine are great; they really do live up to all the promises made by the manufacturer. The olympia green is one of my favorites for flower stems.
